MEDICAL CONSULTING SERVICES-THE NAME GAME

Updated: Sep 21, 2021

"Medical Consulting Services" was deliberately chosen to be an uninteresting non-descript business name intended to help protect your privacy. Although there is nothing shameful about seeking treatment, it helps prevent discrimination form unenlightened people observing clinic signage, snooping your caller ID log or return address of a letter.

What’s new?

Medical Consulting Services in the Boise, Idaho area is still accepting patients for treatment. To keep our patients safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, all treatment services are conducted by telehealth. At first, we were a bit wary but have been pleasantly surprised how extremely well telehealth works.

You may be wondering why some medical offices are open, but we are seeing patients remotely only by telehealth. We are a micro-practice composed of one physician, one counselor and two therapy dogs. We are not one of those big clinics where someone is available to take over the patients of a sick doctor or provider. If just one of us becomes ill and cannot work, our practice literally collapses, and no one will be available to provide care for our patients. We do not want this to happen to you and that is why we are being so extremely careful.

What else is new?

Substance use disorders have surged with the pandemic. Treatment services have not appreciably increased. We are working to meet this demand and continue to accept new patients as we ramp up our availability with telehealth technology. Because of advanced training and expertise, we are not limited to a quota of 100 or fewer buprenorphine (Suboxone, Subutex) patients as most practices.

We are pleased to announce the arrival of a new team member, Winifred Churchill, an eight-month-old Labradoodle with black dreadlocks. By appearance, she is very much a mini-Harriet. Under the tutelage of Harriet, Winnie is expected to become a first-class therapy dog. We expect the K9 duo to be an elite strike force, and just in time to confront the surge in patients needing help. We will soon be posting pictures of Winnie and Harriet on our website www.medcon.org.

Everyone here at Medical Consulting Services is doing great and we hope you are also. For those who are not well, we hope for a speedy recovery. Let us know if we can help. We are looking forward to the day when our clinic opens for in-person services.

For new patients who are tired of BEING ABUSED BY DRUGS OR ALCOHOL, we can help you if you are ready. If you are not ready to OCCUPY RECOVERY, we can help you get ready.
